Ledger® Live: Desktop | Getting Started™ with Ledger®

Step 1: Download Ledger® Live

To begin, download Ledger® Live from the official Ledger website. Choose the version compatible with your operating system — Windows, macOS, or Linux.

Step 2: Install the Application

After downloading, run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions. Once installation is complete, launch the Ledger® Live application on your desktop.

Step 3: Set Up Your Device

If you're new to Ledger®, choose “Set up as new device.” Follow the instructions to configure your PIN and write down your recovery phrase. If you already own a Ledger device, choose “Restore device” and enter your 24-word recovery phrase.

Step 4: Connect Your Ledger Device

Plug in your Ledger Nano S, Nano S Plus, or Nano X using the USB cable. Ledger® Live will detect your device and prompt you to verify its authenticity.

Step 5: Add Crypto Accounts

Navigate to the “Accounts” tab and click “Add Account.” Choose your cryptocurrency (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum) and install the required app on your Ledger device. Ledger® Live will then sync with the blockchain and display your account balances.

Step 6: Manage Your Assets

With Ledger® Live, you can send and receive crypto, track your portfolio, and stake supported assets — all with hardware-level security. Each transaction must be confirmed physically on your Ledger device, ensuring maximum protection against threats.

Stay Secure

Never share your recovery phrase. Ledger® will never ask for it. For enhanced security, enable password lock for Ledger® Live and keep your software up to date.
